Junior Engineer

Our client, an established player in the FMCG industry, is recruiting a Junior Engineer to join their ranks! Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for focusing on enhancing service quality and equipment reliability through workflow improvements and optimizing maintenance processes. Additionally, you will also be responsible for: 

  • Executing and participating in the Yearly/Quarterly/Monthly/Weekly/Daily Preventive Maintenance plans
  • Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults whilst dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems, and critical repairs
  • Resolving process problems through individual and team-based continuous improvement activities and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Complying with and reinforcing safety, security, and environmental policies.
  • Being an active participant in the project development process.
  • Implementing and commissioning new production equipment and processes, monitoring modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting existing processes.
  • Participating in monitoring programs for data collection, critical equipment analysis and condition-monitoring techniques
  • Participating in continuous improvement projects based on data analysis.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely upkeep of all relevant documentation.
  • Demonstrating an aptitude for meeting commitments of project scope, time, and budget
  • Familiarisation with GMP standards and ensure all safety standards are met
  • Participating in the checks and calibration of instruments to make sure they are accurate whilst promoting standardisation of equipment.
  • Familiarisation with GMP, ISO Standards, Safe Food Handling, HACCP practices and HSE guidelines.

Experience & Skills

 

  • University degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Have at least one summer working / apprenticeship experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Self-leading experience with subordinate to procedural skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a proactive attitude.
  • Proficient with MS Office and engineering design software (AUTOCAD or similar)
  • Ability to show a track record of improving production, solving problems, and motivating technical teams
  • Organisation of workflow in best sequence
  • A variable thinking capability to handle differing situations that require the identification and selection of solutions within the area of expertise as well as acquired knowledge.
