Quality Control Specialist

We're recruiting a Quality Control Specialist to ensure that manufactured products meet set standards of quality, reliability, and performance following both national and international standards. Additionally the ideal candidate will:

  • Continuously monitor site performance and site audit readiness through continuous walkthroughs, non-conformance investigations, and proper system setups.
  • Ensure that all products meet quality standards by testing them to identify defects or measuring them to ensure that they meet legal requirements.
  • Maintain proper records of quality tests, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor equipment performance to ensure that they continue to function correctly.
  • Recommend changes in process/methods or materials to improve product quality or yield.
  • Review records of incoming raw materials to ensure that they meet specifications for use in production.
  • Reocrd data about production processes and specifications for use in developing and improving quality control standards for future production runs.
  • Lead and create material risk assessments and process improvement plans.
  • Monitor product development and processes to identify deviations from quality policies.
  • Prepare and present reports to update upper management on quality activities.
  • Approve compliant products and reject defective ones
  • Supervise and lead technical staff to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.
  • Ensure adequate training and development of personnel within the quality control structure to meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Enforce standards for health and safety during work operations

Education & Skills:

  • MQF 6 in Food Science/Food technology, or related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry); 
  • Minimum of 6 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control Experience within food manufacturing operations
  • 2 Years of experience in a leadership position
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001, GFSI Quality Systems
  • Business Process Re-engineering
  • Root Cause Analysis (e.g., FMEA, SWOT, Ishikawa, Fish Bone)
  • Technical / Food Processing Automation
  • Statistical Data Evaluation
  • Quality Management Systems
  • Auditing (internal, external)
  • ERP system knowledge
  • Data Analysis & Report Writing
  • Physical/chemical Analysis & IPC control
