Our client, a local group of companies operating within the hospitality and investment sectors, is recruiting a Finance Manager to join their team in one of their new ventures. Managing a team of finance personnel, the ideal candidate will be responsible to:
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis to assess financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage cash flow by monitoring receivables, payables, and liquidity positions.
- Optimize working capital by developing and implementing effective cash management strategies.
- Forecast cash flow requirements and recommend appropriate funding strategies.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
- Review and approve financial transactions and ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Monitor and manage banking relationships and cash management activities.
- Utilize financial systems, such as SAP, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement technology solutions to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial systems.
Experience & Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in using financial systems, preferably SAP.
- Familiarity with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
