Accountant

Our client is recruiting an Accountant to join their growing team within the hospitality industry. Working closely with the Finance Manager you'll be responsible to:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial records, including journal entries, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis as required.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Support the Finance Manager in providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of vendor accounts.
  • Assist in managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to gather data and provide support in budget preparation.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and coordinate with tax advisors.
  • Utilize financial systems, such as SAP, to record and analyze financial transactions.
  • Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

Experience & Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar accounting role is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with the hotel industry is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Basic understanding of financial systems, preferably SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
  • High ethical standards and integrity
