Our client is recruiting an Accountant to join their growing team within the hospitality industry. Working closely with the Finance Manager you'll be responsible to:
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial records, including journal entries, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis as required.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Support the Finance Manager in providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
- Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
- Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of vendor accounts.
- Assist in managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to gather data and provide support in budget preparation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and coordinate with tax advisors.
- Utilize financial systems, such as SAP, to record and analyze financial transactions.
- Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Experience & Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Experience in a similar accounting role is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with the hotel industry is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of financial systems, preferably SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
