Our client, is seeking a qualified candidate to support the implementation of an organization-wide Risk Management framework and process. As part of this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting analyses of operational and regulatory risks across various departments.
- Devising and overseeing the implementation of mitigation strategies to effectively manage identified risks.
- Conducting thorough research and analysis of diverse risk factors affecting the gaming industry.
- Identifying risk factors that may impact the jurisdiction of Malta.
- Providing insights and recommendations based on research findings to support risk management efforts.
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented risk mitigation strategies.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to anticipate potential risks and adapt risk management strategies accordingly.
- Conducting comprehensive analysis and evaluation of risks impacting different functions within the Authority.
- Examining jurisdictional and internal trends to identify necessary risk mitigation strategies aligned with the Authority's strategic objectives.
- Assisting in the development of risk management tools, such as Key Risk Indicators, and enhancing the risk scoring tool to assess the overall risk exposure of the Authority.
- Preparing reports and analyses related to risk management activities.
- Drafting risk management policies and procedures.
- Regularly conducting risk assessments and creating and maintaining an effective risk response plan.
- Monitoring and reporting on the Authority's risk performance.
- Conducting research on various risk factors that could impact the gaming industry, the Maltese jurisdiction, and the Authority.
- Staying updated on industry legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Providing advice on risk mitigation techniques to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with the First and Third Line of Defense functions within the Authority, as well as external stakeholders like the FIAU, the NCC, and other Government Bodies, to consult and coordinate on risk-related matters.
- Providing regular activity updates as directed by superiors.
- Representing the Authority in conferences and forums as necessary.
- Fulfilling any other duties or tasks assigned by the Risk Manager and/or the Chief Risk Officer.
Experience & Skills:
- Possession of a first degree or equivalent (MQF level 6) in a relevant field.
- Postgraduate degrees in risk management are not mandatory but considered an asset.
- Minimum of one (1) year of working experience in a risk-related area. Candidates with longer relevant experience will be preferred.
- Certification from an internationally recognized Institute/Organization will be considered an asset.
- Relevant experience in the gaming industry and familiarity with the gaming regulatory framework are considered assets.
- Sound understanding of risk management concepts, approaches, methods, and techniques within an organization.
- Ability to establish an effective risk communication plan and implement a risk recording and reporting process.
- Possess critical thinking skills, excellent analytical and numerical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend broader business issues.
- Excellent command of English.
- Exceptional ability to produce numerical and written reports suitable for various audiences (colleagues, management, and board level).
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in organizing and presenting findings and recommendations in a constructive manner, both verbally and in writing.
- High competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrates ownership and takes action aligned with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
